I was 10 years old when my Aunt Hannah introduced me to painting.  That introduction led to an enthusiasm and enjoyment of ‘art’ as a self-taught acrylic ‘dabbler’.

My move to Nova Scotia in 2001 awakened a whole new dedication and focus to my art. I am drawn to the timeless,  rugged landscapes of the Atlantic provinces – the barrens, rocks and shorelines – often juxtaposed with the fleeting presence of humanity and animals.

I see myself as a quiet observer of nature and people, striving to create a feeling of ‘being there’ in a moment of time.

In 2007, feeling the need to paint with a group, I started the Crossroad Artists, which meets once a week near my home. Now I also paint with another local group --Artscape.  However most of my painting  is done in our home studio on the top floor of the “Shopudio”.

From time to time I do a series of paintings on a particular theme, the latest one being the horses of Sable Island (see “People and Animals”).

Visitors to the “Shopudio” are welcome.
